Purtroppo AMD, oltre a soffrire di una importante crisi finanziaria, non riesce ancora a competere seriamente, sia in termini di prestazioni che di futuri sviluppi, con Intel. Attualmente le loro CPU sono meno potenti rispetto ai " core " Intel e questa, a breve, debutterà anche nel segmento desktop e mobile con la nuova generazione di core i7 - Neahlem. Inoltre sempre Intel ha dimostrato di poter soddisfare richieste " custom " con la produzione della Cpu per il Mac Book Air.
