Crash preferenze di sitema... ma non succedeva solo con win??

Salve!
mi sto sbattendo da qualche giorno per far andare il mio mac sulla rete dell'uni, la soluzione adottata da molti è stata installare authoxy che dovrebbe far funzionare anche skype, pur non essendo possibile impostare un proxy su questo.

Nelle preferenze-network-ethernet integrata-proxy- HTTP c'è sempre il tick su: il server richiede una password, quando cerco di toglierlo la finestra delle preferenze crasha. questo è il log dell'errore

lo fa tutte le volte... cosa posso fare per correggere il problema? magari è questo crash a non farmi connettere....

avevo già postato questa domanda un po' di tempo fa ma nessuna risposta...riprovo...

quando vado su preferenze di sistema, reti, ethernet, proxy trovo un segno di spunta in "il proxy richiede una password" riferito ad http. provo a togliere la spunta e le preferenze crashano. se volete posto il log dell'errore.
ho aggiornato tutto ho riparato i permessi del disco, ammesso che il problema fosse questo.
avete qualche idea? non so proprio cosa fare... non ho neanche i cd di osx cn me...

se dovesse capitare a qualcunaltro... ho risolto facendo una rchivia e installa e specificando di eliminare i vecchi utenti, le vecchie impostazioni di rete... non ricordo esattamente l'opzione ma tanto è l'unica possibile se fate archivia e installa.

Se si installano robe che vanno a modificare le preferenze di sistema gestite da OS X un crash può accadere più spesso di quanto non si voglia.
