Il Mac si blocca :(

Salve a tutti.
Ormai non passa giorno che non debba staccare la spina al mac, perchè inesorabilmente bloccato.
Era da Mac OS 8.6 che non vedevo una roba simile.. Eppure ormai accade ogni giorno, nelle operazioni più quotidiane...
Manutenzione appena fatta, disco appena riparato.. Cosa posso fare di più?

Credo che tu debba spiegare un pochino meglio ciò che succede, che mac hai, insomma quelle robe lì...

difficile aiutarti altrimenti...

di primo acchitto, se la manutenzione del sistema è ok può essere un problema HW ma vallo a sapere...

Spiego meglio... Appena acceso funziona alla perfezione, poi magari lo metto in Stop per pranzo, lo uso un pò il pomeriggio (è già un pò più lento), e ad un certo punto si blocca così, di punto in bianco, anche banalmente a caricare una pagina di Safri, o a lavorare con Word...
Le ventole cominciano a girare furiosamente, l'orario va a scatti, le finestre non si spostano praticamente più... Solo l'immancabile ed odiosa rotella multicolor che gira e gira....
Io lo lascio anche stare 15, 20, 60 minuti.... Macchè.... Sempre impallato sul nulla....

Senti, so che nei leopard si puù fare un test hardware; io ho ancora il glorioso tiger PPC G4 (su Mac mini..)... Se non erro non ho questa possibilità o...?

Ok, ho fatto il test dell'HW con Techtool e risulta che tutto sia a posto.
Può forse allora dipendere dal fatto che abbia solo 2 GB di memoria liberi?

Hai aggiunto HW di terze parti? Ram? Software "strani"?

Ad ogni modo prova a dare un'occhiata al log di sistema (tramite l'utility Console).

Detta così può essere di tutto.

Non usare tendenzialmente roba tipo Techtool .... il test dell'hardware fallo con il DVD di sistema fornito col computer. Riavvii, tieni premuto "ALT" e poi scegli il test dell'hardware.

Non potrebbe essere una applicazione impazzita che monopolizza totalmente la cpu? Questo spiegherebbe la ventola che parte a razzo e la enorme lentezza...

Prova a dare un'occhiata ai processi dal monitoraggio attività o dal terminale, con il comando "top -u"...

magari prova da utility disco a fare un ripristino dei permessi... si sa mai che aiuti.
inoltre hai fatto tutti gli aggiornamenti?
Certo poi che con poca memoria rallenta ma il mio anche con 100 mega liberi non si blocca...

Salve a tutti e grazie per i consigli!!

Procediamo con ordine:

1) non mi è stato possibile fare il test dell'hardware, perchè, una volta riavviato premedo il tasto alt, avevo solo la possibilità di scegliere se avviare il DVD o MacHD. Nessuna icona del test HW.!!

2) Si in effetti ho dato un'occhiata a Console: in pratica il 15 Settembre mi avrebbe riportato ben 4 crash, prima che staccassi la spina.. Solo che il linguaggio è incomprensibile...

3) Ho provato a fare il monitoraggio delle attività da Terminale: in pratica risulta che i maggiori sottrattori di CPU sono WindowsServer e top.
Sfortunatamente, da quando il computer si è bloccato non ha più aggiornato i dati. Comunque, appena prima che si bloccasse, quando iniziava a diventar lento, ho visto che il comando "top occupava addirittura il 60% di CPU.... MAh..
Certo, se ci fosse il resoconto fosse salvato da qualche parte ci potrei dare un'occhiata, conoscendo il giorno e l'ora..

@Unit52: grazie, ma sfortunatamente è la prima cos che ho fatto nella manutenzione...

Comunque provo ad allegare quello che mi dice Console, se qualcuno ci capisce...
