Carissimi lettori,forse quello che sto per dirvi,a voi non interessa molto,dato che qui si parla della masterizzazione su DVD ma,voglio comunque informare coloro che desiderano masterizzare AUDIO.
Non acquistate un pocket drive cdrw 16x10x24 della ditta LaCie perchè non solo non masterizza all'indispensabile velocità di 1x per i master audio ma, neanche a 2x , 6x , 8x , 12 x.
Masterizza solamente a 4x ,10x ,16x.
Perdonate questo mio risentimento nei confronti di una ditta che ritenevo più seria e professionale e che mi ha deluso. Perdonatemi se con ciò qualcuno si sentisse offeso,prego di non volermene,ho espresso solamente un parere personale.

Qualcuno per caso ci è riuscito?
Io ho fatto una prova, dal OS 9 ho scaricato la patch, l'ho scompattata, ho aperto la cartella Applicazioni del OS X ( sempre dal OS 9) e vi ho copiato il DVD Player 3.1.1 preso dal iMac, ho portato il documento DVDPlayback (seguendo il percorso descritto da Settimio) sulla scrivania (del OS 9) e lì l'ho patchato.
Prima cosa il file non cambia nome in Original DVDPlayback e cambiandolo a mano non si ottengono risultati positivi.
Morale: patchando e lasciando il nome DVDPlayback e riinserendolo nella sua cartella d'origine e riavviando Mac OS X il DVD player si apre, ma non succede praticamente nulla, il DVD non viene caricato sulla scrivania e risulta inutile la ricerca della cartella Video_TS utilizzando il menù del DVD Player.

Pioneer has helped to lead the recordable DVD movement through the introduction of innovative products such as the world's first DVD recordable drive in 1998, the first 4.7 GB capacity DVD-R drive in 1999, the award-winning DVR-A03 DVD-R/RW/CD-R/RW drive in 2001, and now the fourth generation DVR-A04.

Sono un felice possessore di un g4 733 con dvd-r.
Nonostante tutto anche con l'aggiornamento a 3.1.1 il dvd player non mi riproduce le cartelle VIDEO_TS. Le apre, ma quando do play va subito in stop.
Ho provato anche con la patch.

Chiedo anticipatamente scusa per questa mia banale domanda, che tuttavia non ha trovato risposta sul sito Apple...

Il Superdrive (quello presente su alcuni G4 e nuovi iMac) registra e legge - ovviamente - i DVD video sugli appositi DVD-R in vendita anche sull'AppleStore. E fin qua' ci siamo....

E' invece possibile usare il Superdrive come un normale DVD-RAM masterizzando NON un file video mpeg-2 ma bensi' dei semplici dati.....mac files and folders, per intenderci?

Se cosi' fosse il Superdrive permetterebbe non solo di archiviare il "master" finale di un video digitale ma anche (e qui' sta' il bello....) TUTTA LA CARTELLA con il montaggio fatto con iMovie o Premiere o FCP......con tutta la sua bella timeline, le sue belle transizioni al posto giusto, i titoli, i bin, ecc., ecc......

Non e' un DVD RAM ma puoi masterizzare tranquillamente files e folders con Toast e rendere il disco leggibile anche da Windows.
Nessun problema.
Se poi ti crei una struttura Video TS puoi inserire anche un film in MPEG 2 e farlo leggere da qualsiasi Mac o PC.
Non so al momento se sia possibile e come fare leggere un disco cosi' realizzato da un lettore DVD casalingo.
