Tiger e stampanti epson

Questa sera ho inizializzato e installato Tiger e vi volevo chiedere se è normale che due stampanti epson Stylus Photo 950 e Stylus Photo 825 non vengano riconosciute in automatico dal sistema operativo (panther lo faceva senza problemi e ho selezionato il pacchetto driver epson durante l'installazione) a questo punto ho provato a scaricarmi i driver dal sito epson e a installarli ma la cosa strana è che una volta installate e funzionanti quando riavvio il sistema spariscono misteriosamente... praticamente devo installare ogni volta i driver.
Ho fatto anche l'aggiornamento al 10.4.1 ma non è cambiato nulla.

Qualche consiglio?

E' un problema noto di Tiger - devi usare una funzione nuova di
"utility configurazione stampante" che si chiama "reimposta il
sistema di stampa"

ITALY Same problem with my Epson 740 and G5 DP, but with Titanium it works well - I solved the problem following Apple instruction:

Mac OS X 10.4: About the Reset Printing System feature
With Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, Printer Setup Utility includes a Reset Printing System feature, a troubleshooting function that you might want to use after you try all other printing troubleshooting steps.

Important: This feature should only be used as a "last resort" for troubleshooting a printing issue.

What does Reset Printing System do?

It deletes all printer queues and jobs.
It resets all printer settings to their default by deleting configuration files.
It performs a permissions check on the /tmp directory.
Any devices that previously appeared in your Printer List and Fax List will need to be added again after resetting the printing system.

How do I reset my printing system?

To use the Reset Printing System feature, follow these steps:

In the Finder, choose Utilities from the Go menu.
Open Printer Setup Utility.
From the Printer Setup Utility menu, choose Reset Printing System.
Click Reset.
Tip: If Printer Setup Utility won't open at all (possibly due to your printing issue), you can try to access the Reset Printing System feature directly by holding down the Option key while opening Printer Setup Utility

Ciao e grazie per la tua risposta ma con l'inglese non me la cavo molto bene, sono riuscito a trovare "Reimposta il sistema di stampa" ho cliccato e mi è apparsa una finestra dove mi diceva che tutte le code di stampe verranno cancellate, gli ho dato l'ok e non è successo nulla... continuo a non vedere le stampanti.
Se invece vado su aggiungi stampante e la inserisco manualmente la stampante funziona fino al riavvio.

prova questo
cancella le preferenze di epson + epson monitor 3 + epson printer utility - usa i driver gimpt e prova a stampare - se và ricarica i driver epson - poi vai in utility configurazione stampanti ed aggiungi quelli originali epson (usa il comando "altre stampanti" e non "aggiungi")

Posts: 7 I got it to work! Here's what I did, first I opened the library folder, went to the printer folder, opened the epson folder and then deleted all the preferences for the epson printer. Then I deleted the epson monitor3 and the epson printer utility, neither of which worked. then I restarted, and now it prints normally.


dual 2.7 G5, Nividia video, dual 400 gig drive, blue tooth, airport; Mac OS X (10.4.1); 5 gigs ram
