The new Creative Suite by Adobe
Italy
is the testing land for Adobe and its new Suites.

The Creative
Suite by Adobe were introduced yesterday for the first time in Milan
at a special event.
Adobe offers two products that will phase out all Adobe Collections
(Design, Publishing, Web and Digital Video), now no more sold in our
market.
Italy
is the first country (and the only one at the moment) to experiment
this repackaging and Adobe's Director of Graphical Products, Mr. David
Burkett flew from US in Milan to show the offer in deep.
The new offer is structured in two versions:
- Adobe Creative Suite Standard Edition
- Adobe Creative Suite Premium Edition
The first one contains Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, the second
adds GoLive, Acrobat and Premiere.
All these applications run on Mac OS X and on Mac OS 9.x, except Premiere,
that, as confirmed by Mr. Robert Raiola of Adobe Italy and France, will
be sent to customers in the upcoming Mac OS X version as soon as it
will be available, following the reception of a coupon that is in the
box.
Probably Premiere 6.5 or 7.0 (the exact future version number is not
yet known) for Mac OS X, will be ready in the second half of 2002, in
English language but equipped with a useful localized guide.
The strength of these packages is the well k nown high integration of
all Adobe applications: XML if the foundation concept of Network Publishing:
printing, web or wireless communications are no more a problem, you
can offer the same content on different media.
Mr.
Peter Engrob did all the demoes of Adobe's products on on Mac OS X except
for Premiere, that was showed on a Wintel PC, not without problems.
Adobe Creative Suite is available with the same range of applications
in Mac and Windows versions.
In
order to obtain an Adobe Creative Suite we'll have to wait till the
27th May, the same day of the Italian release of Photoshop 7 in Italian
(prices in euro will be known only a month before).
The Standard Edition of Adobe Creative Suite will have a price of 1,499
euro ($1,320), while the Platinum Edition will have a price of 1,799
euro ($1,583), all without taxes.
Upgrades offers are very interesting, these are applied only to the
owners of Photoshop or of one of the former Adobe Collections.
The Standard Edition will cost 599 euro ($527), while the Premiere Edition
will cost 799 euro ($703), all without taxes.
This is an interesting offer for graphics, publishing and digital video
professionals, Adobe wants to experience the effect of the new product
on a market so full of creative people, like Italians.
As a marginal note, during the conference made at the smart Four Seasons
Hotel in Milan, Mr Massimo Cremagnani won, among all attendees, a holiday-prize
valued 1,500 euro ($1,320), he opened the door of a virtual Suite with
a key previously sent by Adobe. Many compliments from all of us!
