Al Macworld Expo gli stand saranno meno di quelli degli scorsi anni, ma non mancheranno le novità e, soprattutto, i grandi nomi.
Il Macworld di San Francisco che si apre martedì della prossima settimana avrà un numero di espositori inferiore a quello dello scorso anno, ma le novità saranno comunque moltissime. La notizia giunge direttamente dall’ufficio stampa della rassegna che oggi ha fatto il punto sui preparativi dell’evento che si terrà al Moscone Center.
La novità più visibile sarà la chiusura del padiglione nord dei due saloni sotterranei che nel corso degli anni precedenti era stato utilizzato sempre meno, lasciando grandi spazi invenduti ai margini. Il padiglione sud è invece quello posto esattamente sotto la sala che ospita il keynote di Steve Jobs.
Secondo quanto fa sapere IDG Expo gli stand prenotati sono al momento 275, un numero inferiore ai 325 dello scorso anno ma tra gli assenti non ci saranno i grandi nomi. Da Adobe a Quark, da Canon a Nikon, da BlackBerry/RIM a FileMaker, da HP a Epson, da Microsoft a naturalmente Apple (con lo stand centrale più ampio).
Moltissime le novità assolute e quelle che hanno solo pochi giorni di “vita”, alcune già di nostra conoscenza ma ancora embargate dalle società e quindi non ve le possiamo anticipare, ma promettono di essere interessanti.
IDC Expo cita, tra le altre, la nuova console per auto di Clarion che consente di integrare un lettore DVD e iPod, di cui abbiamo già scritto e che verrà mostrata per la prima volta dal vivo nell’area espositiva del Macworld.
Tanti i piccoli e medi produttori di software che avranno qualcosa da mostrare. Auto.des.sys illustrerà , ad esempio, l’atteso form.Z 5.0, Corriente Networks un software in grado di mettere in sicurezza le reti Wi-Fi, Mariner Software la versione 3.0 di MacJournal e Sorenson Media avrà presso il suo stand la versione 4.1 di Squeeze Compression, ultimo aggiornamento del suo codec che, dotato del plug-in Telestream, permette di codificare video in formato Windows Media 9 (oltre alle precedenti versioni) direttamente su Mac.
