“What’s The Download” è un sito istituzionale che negli Stati Uniti promuove le virtù della musica digitale legale.
Viene fornita la più aggiornata lista di siti che in USA operano in modo legale per la vendita di file musicali e che rispettano specifici diritti e doveri, tra le citazioni di maggior spicco ovviamente iTunes Music Store (leader in USA come altrove) ma anche Napster, portati ad esempio come siti dove è possibile acquistare brani, mentre per quel che riguarda lo streaming di brani, si cita Rhapsody di Real.
Attualmente iTunes è il “sito” del mese per “What’s The Download” e sul sito di Apple è presente il banner dell’altro, scambiandosi link e cortesie.

Ricordiamo invece che MusicUnited (il sito della RIAA – Recording Industry Association of America, i fonografici) non lo elencava alla sua nascita e continua a non considerarlo legale.
